James Kärlek Friedrich (German/Swedish: /d͡ʒeɪms ˈɕɛːrˌleːk ˈfʁiː.dʁɪç/ "assailant of love and peace"), also known as Jamie Fritz (/ˈd͡ʒɛɪmi fʁɪt͡s/, /ˈjɛɪmi/ [humorously]), is a German nurse. he is a paranoid, egotistical, violent misanthrope who has little regard for the safety or wellbeing of others. Benjamin is his husband.
Jamie has very little memory of his past and doesn't know his actual date of birth. his name was Jeckel Spielmeijer prior to moving to the United States. while assumedly born in Cologne, he moved to Kalmar, Sweden around the age of 10, then moved to his uncle's original homeplace, Dessau, when he was 12. he lived there until he was 18.
he grew up speaking Kölsch* and Swedish, which explains his strange accent and the sing-songy quality to his voice. he says "Heidewitzka!" quite often. *his dialect actually sounds closer to Low Franconian dialects than Kölsch.
Jamie is very reckless and impulsive, and doesn't really have a clear grasp on what is right vs what is wrong. while he doesn't intend to hurt people, he is unable to understand others' emotions and has a habit of trampling over them because of it.

Jamie is a genetic nightmare. he is 7'6" with vEDS and what seems to be some sort of albinism.
he has a crippling morphine addiction and steals vials and pills from the ICU he works in.
he is in late-stage renal failure and only has about half a kidney left. he managed to survive stage 4 kidney cancer that had metastasized to his spine.
he was diagnosed with "multiple Persönlichkeitsstörung" back in Germany.
in addition to English, German, and Swedish, Jamie is conversational in Thai and can speak elementary Vietnamese.
Jamie's twin-drills resemble α-helices.
he took his last name from his uncle, who in turn took it from the Fairhwist deity Jakob Fritz (a Germanization of Yagub Phrutsu "Jargoth the Great").
he's still patriotic towards the Deutsche Demokratische Republik.
