James Kärlek Friedrich (German/Swedish: /d͡ʒeɪms ˈɕɛːrˌleːk ˈfʁiː.dʁɪç/ "assailant of love and peace"), also known as Jamie Fritz (/ˈd͡ʒɛɪmi fʁɪt͡s/, /ˈjɛɪmi/ [humorously]), is a German nurse. he is a paranoid, egotistical, violent misanthrope who has little regard for the safety or wellbeing of others. Benjamin is his husband.
his name was Jeckel Spielmeijer prior to moving to the United States. while born in Cologne, he moved to Kalmar, Sweden around the age of 10, then moved to his uncle's original homeplace, Dessau, when he was 12. he lived there until he was 18.
he grew up speaking Kölsch and Swedish, which explains his strange accent and the sing-songy quality to his voice. he says "Heidewitzka!" quite often.
Jamie is very reckless and impulsive, and doesn't really have a clear grasp on what is right vs what is wrong. while he doesn't intend to hurt people, he is unable to understand others' emotions and has a habit of trampling over people because of it.
