Lunarian, known natively as Lô-bặ [lo˧˧ ɓaʔ˧˨], is a dialect continuum spoken on the Moon. it's mostly spoken by Native Lunarians, the descendants of the first Lunarians, known as Lô-ku [lo˧˧ ku˧˧]. this page focuses mostly on the dialect spoken in the LPR. it is a co-official language in all four Colonies.

most Lunarians speak some amount of the Lunarian language regardless of their ethnicity. in the Lunar People's Republic, it is a required subject for all students.

Lô-bặ

Lunarian has had a great amount of influence from the other languages spoken on the moon, especially Vietnamese. lunar Vietnamese has had a great amount of influence from Lunarian as well. certain Lunarian words are used instead of Vietnamese words, like hlăm (to worship) and xờ-ru (online, calque of viet "trên mạng").

Lunarian morphology depends on where it is spoken. Lunarian spoken in the LPR is generally isolating, since it's taken many grammatical features from Vietnamese. in Ptek Lo, however, since it's so isolated, it has remained fusional.

the greeting "dú bè nccỏ?" (LUN: [zu˧˥ ɓɛ˥˩ ŋ͜ǂo˧˩˧]; LV: [zu˧˦ ʔɓɛ˨˩ c͈ɔ˧˩] ~ [ju˦˥ ʔɓɛ˨˩ c͈ɔ˨˩˦]) can be heard across the Moon, even amongst those who speak little to no Lô-bặ.

here is the sentence "the Moon is the Earth’s only natural satellite" in Earth (Hanoi) Vietnamese, Lunar (Sao Vàng) Vietnamese, and Lunarian:

EV: Mặt Trăng là vệ tinh tự nhiên duy nhất của Trái Đất.
LV: Go ngì Lô là vệ tinh tự nhiên mù-mù-ki của Ep-ttẽ.
LUN: Ẹp-tte ttọng pu gam thiem psì Gó-ngì-Lô.

Lunarian has five click consonants: tt [ǀ], xx [ǁ], qq [ǃ], jj [‼], and cc [ǂ]. in Vietnamese, the clicks are reduced to tense consonants [t͈], [t͈͡s], [k͈], [g͈], and [c͈] respectively. compare "Ẹp-tte" in LV [ep̚˧˨ʔ t͈e˧˧] vs LA [ḛp̚˧˨ ᵏǀε˥˥].

Lunar Vietnamese

Lunar Vietnamese is the Vietic language spoken primarily in the LPR. while there are some major pronunciation differences between Lunar Vietnamese and Earth Vietnamese, speakers of either language wouldn't have a hard time picking up the other.
while trăng is seen as the "correct" pronunciation, in LV, proto-Vietic *b-laŋ became tlăng [t͡ɬaŋ˧˧].
