Spirit is a broad term, referring to various supernatural creatures who take on corporeal forms, usually to fulfill certain tasks. the Anku, for example, guide souls to Hell and bring dreams with omens.

while Spirits are able to hold physical forms for long periods of time, they must consume lifeforce in order to keep existing. this lifeforce can come from any living thing and is more plentiful the younger the being. a Spirit's remaining lifeforce can be consumed by other Spirits.

Lungores, Xali, and normal Anku get lifeforce from the fish they eat. Dreamweaver Anku can occasionally sneak a bite of a person.
